Curiosity as a Basis for Solving Problems

To Kevin Kozlowski, being a good neighbor is about more than how you treat those close to you – it’s a life philosophy. Kevin goes out of his way to lend a helping hand, values curiosity when meeting a new person or problem, and understands the importance of laughter and humor. Even if it’s just a bad dad joke.

“There is always a way to solve challenging problems with a team. As a passionate servant leader, I have found it best to do this by lighting a fire within them rather than lighting one under them,” shared Kozlowski, who has sold and delivered technology solutions for over two decades. Recently, he helped a large insurance company strategize and redesign its website and mobile app with a focus on self-service. The goal was to reduce call center traffic to allow agents to grow their business instead of answering operational questions from their customers.

Sylvia Christensen is a geek at heart, a football aficionado, and Trility Consulting’s newest Senior Technical Recruiter. For more than 11 years in the technology industry, she has helped people take the next step in their careers. Syl, short for Sylvia, loves talking with candidates about past experiences and future goals to understand if the opportunity at hand is a good fit.

Recruiting is about more than a placement to Syl. It’s about the person who trusts her to play a part in their career journey. “It’s important to make the best cultural fit possible. Approaching Talent Acquisition with Empathy

In working relationships, Scott Albert communicates naturally with transparency and empathy. These personal traits have served him throughout a successful career, enabling rapidly expanding organizations by developing strategic sourcing. He is excited for his fingerprint to be a part of Trility Consulting’s continued growth.

Scott had opportunities to transition into sales over the years but it never felt right to him. The talent acquisition aspect of scaling a business is where he belongs, “I find joy in helping someone improve their situation. Understanding where candidates are at in their careers, where they want to be, and if a move makes sense for them. It isn’t something I take lightly.” By following his passion, Scott has helped hundreds of candidates advance their careers and empowered businesses to grow.

A Passion for Research and Strategy to Drive Content Marketing

A professional journey can take many turns throughout a person’s lifetime. For Claire Damon, hers took a dramatic one before finishing college, “I spent a year in New Zealand during college, and it shifted my perspective. I developed an interest in social justice and the environment that led me to not seek out a ‘true’ marketing job right out of college.”

Instead, Claire spent time as a research analyst in the technology industry where she focused on learning how software is created and, specifically, how algorithms impact results. This eventually piqued her interest in inbound marketing and led her back to marketing by taking a role in the nonprofit sector before joining Trility as a Content Marketer. 

Claire’s drive to bring value and validate results is something Trility seeks out in every candidate. However, her passion to learn and research means she keeps widening her perspective and brings thoughtful, concrete strategies and ideas for our team to leverage.

Proven Success

At her previous position, her fundraising strategy helped the organization address the challenges that COVID brought in 2020. “In lieu of a gala, I pitched a 10-minute documentary to capture Abide’s story of what they were trying to accomplish in North Omaha. The Lights of Hope campaign exceeded the goals we set during a very challenging time.” 

An Iowa native, Damon moved to Des Moines and sought out a full-time role in marketing that would provide flexibility and growth opportunities in a team environment. “I was impressed with Trility’s track record of keeping its commitments to its clients and the transparency throughout the interview process,” shared Claire. “It reinforced that I would have the autonomy to own my work and responsibilities.”

Jennifer Davis promoted to Vice President of People Operations.

As one of the first employees hired in March of 2017, Davis has reliably served Trility as needs arose and exponentially grew. “We worked with Jennifer before Trility as consultants and quickly realized she would always deliver and always with a smile,” said Edwards. “From the start, she has always embodied the spirit of People Operations – caring and serving others and putting people first always. She continues to make Trility a better place for each of us, so she was the natural person to step up and lead People Operations.”

Kori Danner promoted to Talent Delivery Manager.

“Finding new talent is a lifeline for Trility, and Kori has been at the heart of finding people who exemplify what Trility embraces – honor, professionalism, and keeping promises from Day 1,” shared Edwards. “Our ability to scale and not sacrifice how we deliver work is directly related to Kori’s consistency in creating connections and forming reliable processes that earn and increase trust with people considering joining our team.”

As a longtime fundraiser in the nonprofit sector, Megan Hanna discovered she had a knack for building solid relationships and creating inclusive communities for donor and volunteer networks. This ability to connect with others and build a culture made her an ideal fit for the recruitment team at Trility Consulting®.

“Non-profit work is very relationship-focused and rewarding, but I realized I desired a position where I could work in a team environment – not just build one,” shared Megan, whose role as a Talent Sourcer is to identify individuals who are interested in delivering solutions with a team instead of being viewed as an “outsourced contractor” to clients.

Along with the team environment Trility offers, Megan was excited about how the culture translates to team members who are geographically distributed around the United States. “I love the opportunity to work remotely but still feel part of a team on a daily basis with the communication tools and resources available.”

Megan’s two dogs, Mason and Kaylee, are also excited to have her working from home.

Never Leave ‘Em Guessing

The world according to Melissa Creger means you’re never left guessing. As someone who values and practices transparency, she has a history of earning trust, being flexible, keeping an open mind (and ears) so her thinking is always challenged. 

“I don’t ever want to guess how I’m doing, and so I never want my clients to be left guessing either,” shared Creger, whose career has historically been one of connecting and helping people. She got her first taste of “digital transformation” during her work with the Alzheimer’s Association when the organization realized it needed to move from pen and paper to online signups and payments.

“This experience gave me insight into how technology is critical for sustainable growth,” she added. This past experience with technology as a user, coupled with her tenure working in the technology industry since 2012, made her a great fit for Trility Consulting when she joined the team as a Director of Business Development in July.

A History of Making Life Easier

Ryan Skarin makes life easier. This was the common thread when asked about his past roles in the technology industry. This innate ability makes him the ideal Solutions Director for Trility Consulting as a large part of his role is identifying challenges and crafting technology solutions. With clients facing constant change, capturing, protecting, and growing market share requires innovative technology that allows for speed and agility.

His journey has always been to help those around him. One of Skarin’s first programming jobs was writing software to speed up the manufacturing process. He saw the need to teach the industrial engineers how to code so the whole team could support the outcome. When his father asked him to join his real estate appraisal company and help him, Skarin answered yes. Eventually, Skarin’s journey took him back to programming where he worked for Staples and he took pride in building, among many other solutions,  a simple, streamlined web-based tool that solved some frequent and frustrating ordering process problems – essentially building an easy button for the office supply store that sold itself as the well-known red “ easy” button. 

Skarin shared one aspect that must always be considered. “When we define a solution, we also have to understand how it’s viable for the business and enjoyable for the users and sustainable for the client’s IT group to own.”

Adding that a common dilemma that he always aims to avoid: An excellent solution is crafted for the users, but might be difficult to fit into the existing IT landscape. Or IT can maintain it, but it causes the users undue friction. “It’s easy to solve the direct problem a client asks you to solve, but it takes a great deal of context to provide solutions that work long-term for everyone,” he said.

According to Chief Strategy Officer Brody Deren, “Ryan’s experience spans multiple industries and from startups to large corporations. This exposed him to a diversity of problems, and allows him to more quickly connect the dots and do it contextually to better serve our client’s desired outcomes.” 

Skarin’s desire to grow and help others aligns with Trility’s core values and outcome-based delivery method. “He’s already bringing observations, recommendations, and options to ensure our teams achieve the best, highest-priority outcome,” Deren added.
